Quick Start

1. Connect your wallet (Base Mainnet).
2. Select a token or paste a custom token address.
3. Register the token (or take over if already registered).
4. Enter an amount and click Wish.
5. View your charm in the Charm Library.

Wallet & Network

Ensure MetaMask is connected to Base Mainnet. If you see “Not Connected,” reconnect and approve the network switch.

Register a Token

Only the registrar of a token can make wishes. If the token is unregistered, you can register it for a small ETH fee.

Steps

• Select a token from the list or paste a custom token address.
• Click Register. If already registered to someone else, choose Take Over.
• Wait for confirmation. The Wish button will enable automatically.

Fees

• Register: 0.0003 ETH (initial registration of an unregistered token)
• Re-register (Take Over): 0.0006 ETH (buyout existing registrar + treasury fee)

Register vs Re-register

• Register: Used when a token has never been registered before or when the previous registrar has been bought out. This establishes you as the new registrar.
• Re-register: Used to take over a token from the current registrar. Costs double the base fee. The previous registrar receives a refund of their original registration fee (0.0003 ETH) and loses registration rights.

Protecting Your Tokens

Strategy: Register rare or unknown tokens early to claim them before others. Once registered, others must pay double (0.0006 ETH) to take over, but you'll receive your initial fee back (0.0003 ETH) if someone does take over.

Important: If someone re-registers "your" token, you lose exclusive rights to make wishes with it. You'll receive an automatic refund of 0.0003 ETH, but you'll need to re-register again if you want to continue using that token.

Lucky Token - Free Daily Faucet

The Lucky token is a special free faucet token on Base Mainnet that allows you to test WishingWell without spending real money.

How It Works

• Free Tokens: Mint 8 Lucky tokens every 24 hours at no cost
• No Gas Required: Minting is completely free - no ETH needed
• Daily Limit: You can mint once per day per wallet address
• Testing: Perfect for trying out the wishing system without risk

How to Mint

• Select the Lucky token from the token list
• Click the "Get 8 free Lucky tokens" button (appears when you have less than 8)
• Wait 24 hours before your next mint

Make a Wish

Once you are the registrar, you can burn tokens to the well and receive a charm.

Steps

• Select the registered token in the Wish section.
• Enter the amount (must be greater than 0).
• Approve token spending if prompted.
• Click Wish and wait for confirmation.

Limits

• Max $10 USD per wish (if price is available).
• Otherwise max 100 tokens per wish.

Disclaimer: Token Burn

All tokens used to make a wish are permanently burned to the Well address 0x8888888888888888888888888888888888888888.

These tokens cannot be recovered, reversed, or spent by anyone. Only proceed if you understand this is irreversible.

Charm Library

Your charms are stored in your browser’s localStorage and can be verified on-chain.

Features

• View charm details and rarity tiers.
• Verify charms directly from the blockchain.
• Delete charms you no longer want to keep.
• Discover missing charms by scanning recent blocks.

• Common (0-9)
• Uncommon (10-14)
• Rare (15-19)
• Legendary (20-24)
• Epic (25-29)

Troubleshooting

Wish button is disabled

• Make sure you are the registrar for the token.
• Ensure your balance is enough and amount is valid.
• Click into the amount field to refresh the button state.

Token icons look wrong

• Icons come from CoinGecko or Trust Wallet fallback.
• Try switching tokens to refresh the icon cache.

RPC errors / failed transactions

• Check you’re on Base Mainnet.
• Ensure the token address is valid.
• Confirm token decimals are correct for the amount.
